A metal-free ceramic restoration that fully covers a front tooth. It restores the shape and color of a significantly damaged tooth while blending naturally with the surrounding teeth.
■ Procedure Overview An all-ceramic crown is a restorative treatment for a front tooth weakened by extensive decay, fracture, or root canal treatment. The damaged tooth is prepared and completely covered with a metal-free ceramic restoration to restore its shape and function. Because the crown contains no metal, there is less risk of a dark line showing through at the gum margin. Its light-transmitting quality also creates an appearance similar to that of a natural tooth. The front teeth are the most visible teeth when speaking and smiling. At DIAN, even a single crown is designed with careful consideration of the color and translucency of the adjacent teeth, left-right symmetry, and the gumline. ■ Who May Be a Suitable Candidate - Patients who need to protect a front tooth after root canal treatment - Patients with extensive decay or fracture that cannot be adequately restored with composite resin or a veneer - Patients concerned about the color or dark gumline of an older front-tooth restoration - Patients who prefer a metal-free dental restoration ■ When Another Approach May Be Recommended - Minor tooth damage: Composite resin or a veneer, which requires less tooth preparation, may be considered first. - Severe teeth grinding or strong biting forces: A stronger zirconia crown may be more appropriate. - Gum inflammation: Periodontal treatment should be completed first. - Poor condition of the tooth root or surrounding bone: The dentist must first determine whether the tooth can be treated and preserved before proceeding with a crown. ■ Treatment Duration and Recommended Stay Treatment usually requires 2–3 visits. The tooth is prepared, an impression or digital scan is taken, and a temporary crown is placed. After a fabrication period of approximately 1 week, the final crown is fitted and attached. If root canal treatment is required first, the number of visits and the overall treatment period will increase. For patients traveling from overseas, a stay of approximately 7–10 days is recommended. ■ Cost Information The listed price applies to one tooth. Additional fees apply if root canal treatment is required or if the tooth needs internal reinforcement after root canal treatment: Post: KRW 120,000 Resin core: KRW 120,000 Any additional treatment and associated costs will be explained after diagnosis and before treatment begins. ■ DIAN’s Approach to Care - Our Chief Director personally manages the treatment from diagnosis through final crown placement. - The crown is placed only after confirming its color, translucency, and balance with the adjacent teeth. - Consultations and treatment are provided in private rooms. - Consultations are available in English, and DIAN is registered as a medical institution authorized to serve international patients.
