A same-day treatment that removes decay from a back tooth and restores the area with tooth-colored composite resin. Only the affected portion is treated, preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible. KRW 96,000–180,000 per tooth, depending on the treatment area
■ Procedure Overview A composite resin filling restores an area of a back tooth affected by decay, wear, or a small defect using a tooth-colored material. Because the resin is placed and hardened directly inside the mouth without requiring an impression or laboratory fabrication, treatment can usually be completed in a single visit. At DIAN, we first consider the most conservative treatment that preserves as much of the natural tooth as possible. When a resin filling is sufficient, we do not recommend a more extensive procedure. Your imaging results will be reviewed with you to explain the extent of the decay and why treatment is needed. ■ Who May Be a Suitable Candidate - Patients with early to moderate decay in a back tooth - Patients with discoloration or damage around an older filling - Patients experiencing sensitivity due to a worn or notched area near the gumline - International patients with a short stay in Korea who need same-day treatment - Patients who prefer a tooth-colored, metal-free material ■ When Another Approach May Be Recommended - Extensive decay or significant damage to the chewing surface: An inlay may be more appropriate. - Thin remaining tooth walls or a tooth that has undergone root canal treatment: A crown may be recommended to protect the entire tooth. - Decay that has reached the dental pulp: Root canal treatment will be required first. - Severe teeth grinding that repeatedly damages fillings: Alternative restorative materials may also be considered. ■ Treatment Duration and Recommended Stay Most treatments are completed in one visit and take approximately 20–40 minutes per tooth. You can generally return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment, making this option suitable for patients with a short stay in Korea. If several teeth require treatment, the procedures may be divided throughout the day or scheduled over 2 visits. ■ Cost Information The cost is calculated per tooth and varies according to the location and extent of the decay: Small groove on the cheek-facing surface: KRW 96,000 One surface of the chewing area: KRW 120,000 Two or more surfaces: KRW 180,000 Area between adjacent teeth: KRW 120,000 Worn or notched area near the gumline: KRW 96,000 If the decay is deep and an MTA pulp-protection material is required, an additional KRW 36,000 will apply. The applicable treatment category and total cost will be explained after examination and before treatment begins. ■ DIAN’s Approach to Care - Our Chief Director personally conducts the diagnosis and treatment. - Your imaging results will be reviewed with you to distinguish between teeth requiring treatment and those that can be monitored. - Consultations and treatment are provided in private rooms. - Consultations are available in English, and DIAN is registered as a medical institution authorized to serve international patients.
