A full-coverage restoration made from strong, tooth-colored zirconia. Designed to provide the durability needed for chewing while maintaining a natural tooth-colored appearance. Front tooth: KRW 780,000 / Back tooth: KRW 720,000 per tooth
■ Procedure Overview A zirconia crown is a restorative treatment for a tooth weakened by extensive decay, fracture, or root canal treatment. The damaged tooth is prepared and fully covered with a zirconia restoration to restore its shape and chewing function. Zirconia is a strong, tooth-colored ceramic material. It contains no metal and can withstand the substantial chewing forces placed on the back teeth. Zirconia crowns can be used for both front and back teeth. They may also be used as part of a dental bridge, which replaces a missing tooth by supporting the restoration on the adjacent teeth. At DIAN, treatment does not end with simply covering the tooth. Before final placement, the dentist checks the bite against the opposing teeth and confirms that the restoration’s color blends naturally with the adjacent teeth. ■ Who May Be a Suitable Candidate - Patients who need to protect a tooth after root canal treatment - Patients with extensive decay or fracture that cannot be adequately restored with composite resin or an inlay - Patients who want a tooth-colored, metal-free restoration for a back tooth - Patients who want to replace an older metal restoration - Patients with strong biting forces or a habit of clenching their teeth ■ When Another Approach May Be Recommended - Minor tooth damage: Composite resin or an inlay, which requires less tooth preparation, may be considered first. - When maximum translucency is the priority for a front tooth: An all-ceramic crown may be more appropriate. - When replacing a missing tooth without preparing the adjacent teeth: A dental implant may be considered. - Gum inflammation or poor tooth-root condition: The dentist must first determine whether the tooth and surrounding tissues can be treated and preserved. ■ Treatment Duration and Recommended Stay Treatment usually requires 2–3 visits. The tooth is prepared, an impression or digital scan is taken, and a temporary crown is placed. After a fabrication period of approximately 1 week, the final restoration is fitted and attached. If root canal treatment is required first, the number of visits and the overall treatment period will increase. For patients traveling from overseas, a stay of approximately 7–10 days is recommended. ■ Cost Information The listed price applies to one tooth: Front tooth: KRW 780,000 Back tooth: KRW 720,000 A replacement tooth within a dental bridge, known as a pontic, is charged at the same per-unit rate. Additional fees apply if root canal treatment is required or if the tooth needs internal reinforcement after root canal treatment: Post: KRW 120,000 Resin core: KRW 120,000 Any additional treatment and associated costs will be explained after diagnosis and before treatment begins. ■ DIAN’s Approach to Care - Our Chief Director personally manages the treatment from diagnosis through final crown placement. - The restoration is placed only after confirming both chewing function and color harmony. - Consultations and treatment are provided in private rooms. - Consultations are available in English, and DIAN is registered as a medical institution authorized to serve international patients.
